ROMANTIC RHINE TRIP
Memmingen Pictures Previous Next Top
From Munich we drove on the Autobahn to Ottobeuren Monastery in Memmingen. They were getting ready for May Day and had put up a huge maypole topped with a tree. The church at the monastery was built with plastered walls which were then painted to look like the building was made of bricks with elaborate molding. We could not go inside the church, but we did see a small chapel in an adjacent building. After viewing the monastery, we switched drivers, and Bill drove on the Autobahn to Fussen.
