Koblenz        Pictures        Previous        Next       Top

After lunch we docked in Coblenz and took a walking tour of the city. As all the German tour guides did, this guide explained that a large part of the city had been rebuilt after having been destroyed in World War II. Interesting monuments here included a very large statue of Kaiser Wilhelm I and a couple of sections from the original Berlin Wall. After the tour, we had ice cream in the town square and walked to see the confluence of the Mosel and Rhine Rivers. The water in each river is a different color. That evening after dinner we went to the boat lounge to hear classical music performed by La Strada, a string trio of two violinists and a guitarist.
